Operation Shutdown

Remember Derek Bell?

I too am employing Operation Shutdown, but of a different kind.  No Tennis for me for the next few days because of an abdominal strain.  The injury happened last week when I was serving out my first round win in the Wash Park tournament.  I played on Saturday and was in a lot of pain (and lost).  I thought I was good to go on Wednesday, but it still hurt a lot (and I lost).

I went to a regular doctor yesterday and they told me to rest.  Gee, thanks, Doc.  I went to a Chiropractor (for the first time ever) in the afternoon and the did  some thing that made stomach muscles contract and that made me feel a ton better.  I actually feel good enough to play today, but she told me to shut it down for 4-5 days and do nothing – so that’s what I’m doing.

I’m thinking that a short break might do me some good.
